ITV to stop broadcasting on all channels for one hour on Saturday 27 August
Saturday 27 August could become the nation’s largest ever sports day! ITV will switch off all seven of its channels from 9.30am for one hour on Saturday 27 August in support of I Am Team GB – an initiative organised by the National Lottery and ITV – designed to encourage everyone to get exercising. Viewers switching on their TV during this time will see the message “We’ve gone running – why don’t you join us?”
There will be lots of ways to get involved, including thousands of fun, free events across the UK. Our returning Olympic heroes will even be joining members of the public up and down the country to cheer them on. Follow #IAmTeamGB on Twitter, and take a look at the website to find out how you can get involved.
There is no need to retune your TV during this time and programmes will start again at 10.30am.
We offer free help and advice to viewers who rely on Freeview for TV so they can continue to receive it when 4G mobile services at 800 MHz are activated in their area. If you notice new interference then get in touch. You can call us for free on 0808 13 13 800 or visit our website www.at800.tv.
In the meantime, we’ll leave you with these pictures of our team getting sporty in preparation for Saturday!
