It’s officially Autumn! We’ve dusted down our sequins, perfected our Argentine tangos and have our glitter balls at the ready for the Strictly Come Dancing live shows that kick off this weekend. As the countdown to Christmas begins (for Strictly fans anyway) we take a look at a few things that could disrupt your ballroom viewing between now and the festive season.
Halloween is the first hurdle. Skeletons, zombies or ghouls trick-or-treating on your doorstep could seriously interrupt Bruno Tonioli’s boisterous banter. Top tip – turn the lights off and close your curtains and no one will know you’re in. You’ll be sitting in the dark, but at least your Strictly viewing won’t be disrupted.
Next it’s Bonfire night. Although it’s on a Thursday, there are bound to be lots of noisy fireworks going off over the weekend. Shut your windows, turn up the volume on your TV, and tuck up under a blanket on the sofa to watch the celebs cha-cha-cha uninterrupted.
Bad weather could mean missing one of Craig Revel Horwood’s caustic criticisms. Heavy rain or strong wind, for example, can affect your TV signal as your aerial or tall trees around it move in the wind. Upgrading your aerial or adjusting your TV setup may help – but get an engineer to advise you to ensure that your TV reception is “FAB-U-LOUS”!
And finally, if Father Christmas lands on your rooftop aerial, you could have all sorts of problems watching the Strictly Christmas special. Make sure you ask him to avoid it when you post him your Christmas present wish-list.
4G at 800 MHz could also disrupt your Freeview TV service. If you notice new disruption as the Strictly stars waltz across your screen, at800 is here to help, so call us on 0808 13 13 800.
